Established at UMBC in 1998, the Center for Women in Technology (CWIT) is dedicated to increasing the representation and success of women and underrepresented groups in engineering and computing fields. CWIT creates an inclusive, supportive environment where students excel academically, develop as confident leaders, and transition into impactful careers in tech.
Through our Scholars and Affiliates programs, CWIT provides students with:
- Comprehensive Mentorship: Connecting students with peer mentors, alumni, and industry professionals.
- Professional Development: Hosting specialized practicum and events and conference opportunities.
- A Supportive Community: Building tight-knit peer networks that foster belonging, retention, and academic excellence.
